My son and his fiancée will certainly back my choice. I feel torn between being ‘nice’ and letting them come to the wedding - which would make me feel threatened again - or being honest that I don’t want them there. I do not feel or act this way towards them. I noticed she looked pleased when we spoke about my illness. I responded in a considered way, not wanting the time with my brother to be spoiled. She was hostile, soon demanding why I had ‘betrayed’ her ten years before. My sister-in-law was nearby at the hairdressers, so I suggested we see her. The next day, Simon met me for lunch and was friendly.

When Simon and Eve met him and his fiancee, he made no mention of the invitation. This made me feel very disturbed and threatened. She and Simon made a flying visit to see my son and his fiancee. Now Eve has emailed my son to say she would love to attend his wedding next year ‘unless there’s awkwardness’. They left England, settled abroad and cut us off. This unleashed fury and abuse (mainly at me) from Eve. I spoke with him and he changed his mind. He gave in and allowed them to change the terms of the will. Ten years ago, they wanted money left to their two children in my father’s will, for buying a house. The elder, Simon, is married to a dominating and manipulative woman, Eve. My treatment includes psychological therapy to encourage relaxation and positive thinking. You can find my favorite hiking boots here and my favorite tennis shoes here.Retired, I’m in poor health due to a debilitating condition which has become worse in the past couple of years. There are many steep places that would make anyone’s heart skip a beat - thus, a bit of hiking experience is recommended, as well as good hiking boots (though good, supportive tennis shoes are also okay if that’s all you have). Keep in mind, that while this hike is short, it’s not really suitable for small children, elderly, or inexperienced trekkers! You’ll be rewarded with incredible views of the surrounding Sedona area that will blow your freakin’ mind. Though Cathedral Rock hike isn’t as easy as others mentioned on this list, it’s remarkably short at just 1.2 miles roundtrip and is so worth the effort to get to the top! With wildly good views of alien-looking red rock formations and the opportunity to visit one of the mystical Sedona vortexes, Cathedral Rock Trail without a doubt one of the most popular short hikes near Sedona that attracts swarms of adventurists. Thus, you’ll find it’s much quieter at the Mescal Trailhead, with more parking and less crowds! Sounds pretty good, eh? Ridiculously epic views, cliffside drops that’ll make your heart skip a beat, breathtaking natural rock formations (like a completely natural rock staircase!), and an adventure you’ll never forget, Devil’s Bridge is high on many travelers’ must-do hikes in Sedona list!Īs mentioned above, I wholeheartedly recommend you start your hike at Mescal Trailhead and go from there to Devil’s Bridge via the Mescal and Chuck Wagon Trail.īecause the regular Devil’s Bridge Parking Lot is actually just on the main road (and it’s not very pretty going from there to the trailhead). Without a doubt, Devil’s Bridge is the most popular hike in Sedona - and for good reason!

**Personally, the easiest way to find great parking and have a nicer, quieter hike to Devil’s Bridge is to go via the Mescal Trail + Chuck Wagon Trail.**ĭEVIL’S BRIDGE VIA MESCAL TRAIL + CHUCK WAGON QUICK STATS :
